What is NearDrop
NearDrop is an open-source app that implements Google’s Nearby Share protocol for macOS. It allows you to receive files from your Android phone to your Mac over a local Wi-Fi network, just like AirDrop. All you need is to install the app on your Mac and enable Nearby Share on your Android phone.
Make sure your Android phone and your Mac are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Run the NearDrop app on your Mac and click the icon in the menu bar. You should see a message saying “NearDrop is running”.
On your Android phone, open the file you want to send and tap the Share icon. Select Nearby Share from the list of options.
Wait for your Mac to appear in the list of nearby devices and tap it. You may need to open the Google Files app and tap Receive on the Nearby Share tab if your Mac doesn’t show up.
On your Mac, you should see a notification asking you to accept the incoming file. Click Accept and wait for the file to be transferred.
The file will be saved in your Downloads folder on your Mac. You can open it with the default app or choose another app from the notification.

NearDrop is a great app that makes file sharing between Android and Mac much easier, but it also has some limitations that you should be aware of
